ARMY BARRACKS 
Terry Zimmerman, Infantry. Assigned to D Bty, 3rd/84th FA, Neckarslum, Artillery Kaserne. I was there for my whole military tour of service from May 1981 until Jan 1984. I am from California and my goal was to get returned to the states near California mainly Fort Ord, Monterey California. But I didn’t want to chance it so I extended every 6 months until I was about to ETS, end of tour of service home. Of course my last 6 months in the military order came and it was Fort Ord, Monterey California about 200 miles from my home but I figured that I would finish my tour in a Pershing Missile battery.
I almost got busted for smoking the hippy lettuce out of a hash pipe, several times.
They (President Reagan administration) implemented the random piss test in 1981, but while in the military I always asked my sergeant for 30 days to prepare for the test but they refused.
Although I never got caught with a dirty test, I did cheat and a fellow non user Specialist Peter Bosco (Delta Battery clerk 1982-84) stood up in his office, whipped it out and pissed in the bottle, handed it to me and I submitted the finished test exam as if I studied all night. He was the real hero of the story about Pvt. Zimmerman’s missed adventure.
On the last day in Germany.
And on the very day I was standing in Frankfurt am Main, all packed up suitcase and duffle bag, to board my flight home suddenly I was directed to step out of line for a random search. It seems that a phone call was made from my battery commander to the MPs – military police, to give me a pat down before I got on the aero plane.

Sort of a last ditch attempt at catching me with my pants down. But nothing stops the midnight rider.

Did anyone know my Grandpa and Grandma? Florencio Rocha and Phyilis Rocha in 1979. My grandpa was stationed there and trying to find a member of the “3 musketeers”. Any help is much appreciated.

I also remember the guest house across the street. I was in Service Battery, training NCO, from 68 to 71 . Great time and i have back 2 times to see what happened to the Kaserne.

Hello I am Michael A Carmona I was stationed there from March 1984 to March 1987. I was in C Btry 3/84 I was in the unit where the three soldiers died on Red Leg in January 1985. In fact I was up on Redleg that day remember being cold. I was inspecting the generators (I was a mechanic) left right before the explosion. Someone was looking out for me.
