    1. I have a 47th Med story from 1978. I was in B Co. 123rd Maint. in 1978 and was playing a softball game against the 47th Med on the Monteith softball field. I went to catch a pop up fly in right field and backed into the outfield fence. I fell to my left side side and the back of my head struck one of the fence posts. I tried to rise but went into a seizure s i was told while face down. The Med’s pitcher was an E6 who ran out to find me in cardiac arrest and proceeded to give me CPR. Eventually I was loaded into a military ambulance which raced me to Nuremburg Military hospital. My heart stopped 3 times but the E6 riding along restarted me every time. I woke up as they rolled me into the ER. ER nurse kept asking if my head hurt but all i focused on was the chest pain from a broken sternum. Spent the night for observation and then back to normal duty after hospital release next day. I never got to thank the E6. He is my hero and because of him I am able to see my grandkids grow. I thought I would share the story with you since you may very well recall the name of the E6.
