McPheeters Barracks was the name of a barracks facility in Bad Hersfeld used by the US Army from 1945 to 1993 . It was built from 1935 for the German Wehrmacht . Until 1945 it was called “Langemarck Barracks” after the Battle of Langemarck .
In the summer of 1993, the city of Bad Hersfeld was informed that the US Department of Defense had decided to disband the garrison in Bad Hersfeld. The last soldiers left the barracks in November 1993.

My name is Richard Thomas and I was stationed here from January 1979 to December 1980 Howitzer Battery Field Artillery.
I WAS STATION HERE FROM AUG 57 TO SEPT 59 TANK CO
My dad who i didnt know was stationed on tho base diring this time. cannot find any info on him. he was dating or whatever Maria Hildegard. i was born in Jan 1959. 3 to 4 mos premature.
My Dad (Robert Dabov) was stationed here from 58-60. He was in Med Co. and we lived in the Gov Quarters. Wonder what happened to the Gov quarters after the base was closed. I went to the Gov school and we loved our time there! Made great friends!
My Dad 1st Sgt Wolski was stationed here from 68. -70. We didn’t love on base.
I was there (1971-1973) with B Battery 3/517 then 2/2 HAWK Air Defense Artillery. Pretty much have lost contact with everyone serving there at that time.

My name is John stringfellow I was here 12 of 1990 and left in dec of 91 I was with the 58 cec I was a diesel mechanic was in support platoon for five months
Was anyone Black , stationed on Badhersfeld base between mid 1958 and early 1959 that may have dated Maria Hildegard. I was born in January 1959, 4 months premature.
