Hallo ich suche meinen Großvater, der ungefär zur zeit 1963 in der Kingsley Kaserne in Hof (Saale) war. Mein Großvater ist bereits verstorben und war Amerikaner. Laut meines Vaters war es immer auffällig. er weiß auch leider keinen Namen mehr. Aber wir können uns an irgendwas erinnern, wir erinnern uns an den Namen (Hazel/Hasel). Wir wissen nicht ob das richtig geschrieben ist.
This may come as a shock to you, but other than a few words or phrases not everyone learned a great deal of the German language while stationed there. That being said, I hold no envy towards any who did, but to come on here and publish a comment in total German, is in my opinion either arrogant or disrespectful. I mean no offense, so to try and accuse me of it would be completely incorrect. I look forward to reading the comments on here, but I am, by choice, not bilingual. Please consider translating your comment(s) or, better yet simply post them in English? It is, after all, a forum where American soldiers interact. Thanks for considering my concern. 🙂

Hello, im lookin for my Grandfather, he was in the “Kingsley Kaserne” in “Hof (Saale)” in the time 1963 (i dont know the exact year, but it was about that time). My Gradfather died already, he was an American Army Solider. My Father said, he was always noticeable. Sadly we don’t know the name of him. But we think his name was something with (Hazel/Hasel) or something. We dont know of this is written Correctly.
My name is Nicola (Jacobs) I come from a black family that was stationed at Pond Barracks 77-81. My father was an officer and we drove Volvo. I am looking for my nanny.
