  1. I was a 73C, Finance Specialist, with 501st Finance at William O. Darby in Fürth ’81-87, then 63rd Finance at Husterhohe in Pirmasens ’90-91, 208th Finance at Tompkins Barracks in Schwetzingen ’92-95, retired and joined 266th FINCOM in Leimen in ’96, then back to Tompkins in ’98, moved on to the E-TNOSC in ’00 at Funari Barracks Mannheim, jumped to 2nd Sig Bde in ’08 and moved first to Taylor Barracks, then to Clay Army Airfield in Wiesbaden in ’10, spent some time in the states and now I’m with EUCOM at Patch Barracks Stuttgart. In my 33 years in Germany, I’ve likely been to over 100 installations all over Europe. I really appreciate the memories posted here.

    1. I was stationed at Pirmasens same time. And at EUCOM 79-80 and was my favorite assignment.

  2. I was stationed at Hindenburg Kaserne ( 1st Armored Div. HQ) in Ansbach from 1982-1983. I loved Germany and I fondly remember my time there. I often think of the soldiers I was stationed there with.

  3. Thanks for sharing ! Was stationed at Mckee barracks in Cralsheim in the .late 50s early 60s. Some good memories and not so good.

  4. Another site that resulted from one click leads to the next. Came to see if Giessen was here. Aside from hooches, the only barracks I stayed in after AIT.

  5. Storck Barracks, Illesheim. Dec. 70-Jan. 72. Kaserne is now aviation rotational forces. The landmark smokestack has been demolished, (unsafe and not needed). Satellite views show my old barracks and motor pool still in use and street improvement and new landscaping around the PX-snackbar. Looks nicer than the muddy streets when I was there. I enjoy seeing pictures of the place, (along with Bad Windsheim) and saying to myself, “I walked those streets many times”. The memories remain.

  6. I served ’64 to ’66 at Wilkins Barracks, 651st Medical/Ambulance Unit. Iam asking for list of names and emails of Soldiers who served with me. Capt. Charles Williams was our CEO..Replyy,, Bill Lamps

  7. Good Morning, everyone. Still cold out there in Indy. Just sitting here looking through Army Barracks. Love this site. It’s like morning formation. I check this place out the first thing every morning.

      1. I hit this site every day also. Brings back lots of old memories and I love all the old photos.

    1. Thanks guys. We have fun putting this thing together. I enjoy seeing all the good comments everyone has to share here.

  8. GOOD SITE. I COME HERE OFTEN. LOVE ALL THE PHOTOS. SOME OF THEM BRING BACK A LOT OF OLD MEMORIES.

  9. Well I see a few people found this place. This site is getting bigger all the time. Close to 5000 photos on here. Keep up the good work. I check this site out very day.

  10. I see you changed the header a little. Looks good. I was in the 11rh Air Assault at Fort Benning Ga a long time ago before they shipped out to Vietnam in “65”. I almost went, but I only had 2 months left on my enlistment.

    1. I had a year and a half left, so I went with them. Got switched over to MAC V a month after I got there.

  11. Was in Germany from 1987-89. not all as I remember but then, what ever is?

    1. 87-89? Near when I was there. What was your MOS? I was 16S, Manpads Crewmember, can’t remember the company–long time ago.

    1. THIS IS THE PLACE I GOT MY AVATAR. THEY MAKE IT REALLY SIMPLE TO OBTAIN ONE.

  12. Everything looks to be going pretty smooth on here. We had over 4000 hits yesterday. Still not to many leaving comments. We would like more interaction.
