Was a SSG at the time. Left Germany for recruiting duty in Indianapolis, Indiana

  3. I was a dependant, and my father was stationed at Ferris Barracks. I lived there from August/September 1985 – Jan. 1990. I really enjoyed my time there and still fondly look back at those years I spent there. I really miss the place

  4. I was stationed at Ferris Barracks from April 75 through February 78. I was a Chaplain’s Assistant, assigned to Headquarters Company, 1st Brigade. I had a great time and meet many soldiers along with many german civilians. It’s nice to see some to the pictures on the web site.

  5. I was stationed at Ferris Barracks Bco. 2/81 from March 1978 thru March 1981. I have lots of good memories of old freinds and a few sad ones. Glad I found this site, was able to reconnect with a couple of my old friends. If you were there with me feel free to drop me a line.

  6. Back in 1951-53, I was an Army brat living in Erlangen. This was before they built dependent housing, so our family lived at 8 Atzelsberger Steige, west of Strawberry Hill. The neighborhood had American families scattered throughout it. This was still during the military occupation and the large cities had extensive war damage. I’ve always felt fortunate to have been in Germany at this time and remember it fondly.

    1. I used to live there when I was stationed at Fort Hood. I lived on Church Ave in Kileen.

  7. I spent 4 and half wonderful years at Johnson Barracks, 43rd MP Det, at the Stockade in back of the 16th between June 74 and December 78.(was a member of the 7th Corp Softball Championship team 1975) I go back every year to visit my Mother-In-Law and am amazed at how much has changed. The Germans made a beautiful park out of the training area in the Johnson Barracks area. If you were there during that time please contact me.

  8. Hey everyone, I haven’t been here in over a year and a half and it is good to see that more people have found this site. Been a long hard year and a half for me but I’ll check back more pftem. I was at JB 85-86. C Co. Drop me a line if you recognise me or my name. Peace.

  9. Hello to everyone that was stationed at Johnson Barracks-C Co. 16th Engineers Btn. in Fürth from 1983-1987; I left in July ’87 for the States and decided to give it up in May ’88 after achieveing my personal goal. I then returned to Nbg.-Fürth area where I still live yet today and doing just great. Like mentioned in the forum from the Barracks is absolutely nothing left over, all built up new. My favorites were Sgt. Jackson, Sgt. Smith and Sgt. Culley (Porsche?)

  10. I was stationed at Johnson Barracks between 7/8/1971 – 11/6/1972 I don’t remember much about that time but the one picture I see posted J.B._SUMMER_3_WEEKS_.jpg just under the clock (if it’s the same one) I made that sign and put it up just before I left. I have a few pictures of the barracks I’ll try to scan and put up. I also have some when I went to a barracks, don’t know the name, in Ansbach for awhile to repair the parking lot and other things. I also have some pictures of people that I don’t even remember their names so I won’t put them up unless someone asks.

  11. Hello everyone! I’m Dirk Sullivan or you might remember me as SGT Sullivan I was at Johnson Barracks from 80-82 E Company AVLB crew. We had some good times together. I have many great memories while at Johnson and it was most definitely some of the best times of my life. I had to pull out the old pics to remember some of the names. I will try to post some of these pics on the site. Some of the AVLB gang you might remember? SFC Moske, SGT Felts, SSG Herman, SGT Gomez, SGT Dugger, PVT Rysavy, PFC Eddy, PVT Rivera? Others I can’t remember since my memory is fading, sorry. Studies show that good German beer does help reduce memory loss. Drink more beer!!! I say ” PROST” to my old buddies from Johnson!!! You guys ROCK!
