BREMERHAVEN, GERMANY
The main focus was on the handling of consumer goods and military equipment for troops stationed in Germany. The property – initially known as the Staging Area – was given the name Carl-Schurz-Kaserne in 1973. At the time there were stationed in addition to units of the US Army and United States Air Force and United States Navy.

My name is Robert King, I was stationed with the 33rd stationed hospital from March 1964 to May 1966 as a medical x-ray tech. working for Dr. Berstein.
It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I loved Bremerhaven and the German people and military personnel I served with. I halved always wanted to return, but sorry to say it may never happen. 82 years happen all too quick.
Thank you for the pics!
I was there 88-90 and was hidden in 176th PSC. Memory lane for sure.
I see some of the old crew on here already. But there are so many of us both American & German here in the states who live around each other – from DC to Georgia.
So many memories and so many awesome people I got to meet both military and on the economy as I hung with both Turks and West Africans as well.
Germany will forever have my heart!
