WÜRZBURG ARMY HOSPITAL

WÜRZBURG, GERMANY

A large military hospital complex was built in Würzburg in 1936-37. When the U.S. Army moved into the area in April 1945, this facility was taken over by the 107th EVAC Hospital, and it continues to serve as a U.S. Army hospital today.

The US Army Hospital Wuerzburg is located high on the Galgenberg Hill overlooking the city of Würzburg, in the heart of Franconia. The hospital is a 6 story building on a landscaped park area of approximately 14 acres.

  1. I was born in the hospital in October of 1946, barely legal waiting for an approved procedure to marry local people. My mother was Polish rescued from a work camp. I went there in on my 45th birthday to check it out. I thought I was born in a tent but the hospital was beautiful. I have a newspaper article announcing my birth.

  2. My wife was born at this hospital in August 1975. Does anyone have any clue as to how we may obtain a copy of her birth certificate?
