Love being in Germany. Married my wife there 44 years ago in Nurnberg.
My father was stationed in Coburg at or in Tank Corp in 52-54, I was born in coburg and my mother was german and he was american…I have been searching for my birth mother and a brother hidden from me for so long, I was only told about brother after father died in 2011, for 55 yrs it was a secret….Any info on coburg is greatly appreciated.. I served 69-72 V.N.
Served in Delta Co, 16th Engineers 1988 – 1989, lived there in Johnson Barracks. Sad to see it is all gone, I made many fond memories.
Shout out to David Anderson, I miss ya bud.
was a journeyman 12B at JB from 1985 – 1987, most of it in CC Rock 1st platoon then in MCM.
Good to see CC Rock well represented on this board, especially Sgt. Shick (I’m still sorry to this day the cadre made you carry that heavy rock for my goof-up at PCT in 1986). I remember Willey, Maestas, Grobusch, and was hoping to find Romer and the others.
Gotta say 1986 was an incredible year for me in 1st platoon – we did PCT then got that luxury guard duty in Garmisch. Hope to hear from the rest of you.
Was at JB 77-78 I think it was C company our building faced Headquarters to the left was the PX and Club.
Went on REFORGER 78 plus a lot of Graf ect. Black motorpool PLt Sarge I think we called him Budda. I sold my VW Bug to a e-5 dork after me and 7 other guys went to a Nazarath concert. On the way back I blew the engine. Just after I sold it the guys threw it half way into a dumpster. Just remember one guy Goodbird or something like that. A few miles out was our local downrange we would go on alert and bug out there. Thank God we never had the ballon go up. Lots of stuff to remember.
I was in Reforger 78, but it gets better…
…I was also at the Nazareth concert in Wurzburg!
I climbed the light rigging in the rear of the hall to get a better view, and it was an amazing view!
I was shocked to see the old guitarist from The Sensational Alex Harvey Bamd playing with Nazareth – Zal Cleminson, one of the best axe-men of the era.
I was at Herzo Base from June 1965 to August 1968. I was an 05H (manual morse) operator in the operations building on Dawg trick. I remember right before I shipped out to return to US (land of the round doorknobs), Russia invaded Czechoslovakia and I really feared that I wouldn’t be able to leave. As it turned out I was able to out-process and returned home to Nebraska. Some of the best times of my life were those living in Herzogenaurach and traveling around all of Europe. I miss those times and people and often think of them and what ever happened to them.
Hi, I was stationed at Herzo Base from May, 1968 to April, 1971. I worked in the Comm Center, Camera Club, and EM Club. I am looking for Tom Gorek, Ishmael Taylor, and Bill McPeake and anyone else that might remember me. I was married in the Catholic chapel in 1970 to a girl that lived just a few blocks up the street from me in Oshkosh. We are still married, 40 years later. We lived in Hessdorf while we lived in Germany and then we went to Montana, courtesy of the military.
Hi Dave
Tom Gorek here. Drop me a line in the next month or so. Going to be moving again.

My dad was in Germany in 1968. I believe he put in telephone poles or some type of communication lines. Vermon Jerald blair. I have a photo of him there in 1968 with 3 other men sitting on the back of an army truck. Looked really muddy there. Lol.

I was electronics repairman stationed in

Assigned E Co 3/58th Avn in the tower 71L to SFC Hulit from Nov 1987 to Aug 1988. I loved flying in the helicopters. It was a blast working on Feucht and living on the German economy. They moved me up to Grafenwoehr Aug 1989 and I got out of the military in Dec 1990. I moved back to Texas summer of 1993, been here ever since. I now work for the wounded warriors on Ft. Hood as a GS Civilian.
Good day all, I just signed up on this splendid community and desired to say hi there! Have a wonderful day!
