  1. My father was the commander of the 78 eng.battalion around 1967. When he left he was given some very nice gifts. One which ment a lot to him was a flag that one of the company would March with. My father was so honored that when he retired he hung the staircase of our family house. My parents have since past away and my sister and I would love to give it back if it has any value to anyone dgcarterjr@gmail.com

Hallo Jerry. lot of old memories..i was there 66-68,,,HQ Company , S-4,, we may have seen each other many times in the halls or ta50…i worked in the office with Sgt Dave, Daniel Budde, Louis Frank (in charge of ta50.) at times i worked the gas station..Mickey Knight, Stenhof, Nusmier (has posted many pixs of Rheinland….I met a beautiful 16 year old girl , who spoke no English, i spoke some German..oh it was in the last 3 weeks i was there…she came to visit me in Texas and i in Ettlingen..4 years later when i finished at the university we got married…have been married 52 years now…all our children and grandchildren understand and can speak German…we have been back to visit about 20 times..i still visit many of the old places…yes even what is left of Rheinland…from Texas i am Alex.Alcoser@yahoo.com

    1. SGT JOHN WAYNE JONES, WAS THERE IN 1980 LEFT EARLY 1983..Was also a BARBER, WAS IN HIS EARLY 30’s, tall, dark and handsome.
